Angry Politics

Angry, it seems like Obama will win over Clinton - what is your take on the upcoming elections?

Angry says... Ralph Nader, the erstwhile US consumer advocate and now full-time left-wing blowhard, has - again - entered the US presidential race, maybe giving us a reason to look at what's happening politically stateside.

I met Ralph Nader once, in 1983 when he came to Monash University to give a lecture. I mostly recall the arrogance of his entourage. Read more ...

Sunday Post - Talk the Talk

Angry it's time for another Sunday Post - what have you been up too?

Anrgy says,

I attended, yet again, an eager presentation to Venture Capitalists by hopeful innovators yesterday.

These guys discovered something. They could make a difference. Their innovation would contribute something substantially positive to a tired, overpopulated, slightly stuck world. Where all too often the ignorant, the footlers, the snaggled-toothed, the sunken-cheeked, the fiery-eyed, the bumblers and the cheats seem in charge of setting the agenda for the rest of us. One Foggy Day in Paris...

Angry, looks like 'W' has a friend - what else is happening in the world?

Speaking of what is happening on foreign shores, maybe I'll tell you some time soon of road trips I took over the years - the idea being, just rent a car, and just head out there - go - for anywhere between 1 to 4 weeks. Done that in a few places - Australia, the USA, France ... and planning more. Great way to see things, leave the door ajar for the unexpected, and .... travel all night looking for a place to bed down. More on that later, I guess.

What makes Angry Laugh

Angry says:

Actual Letter to the Canadian Passport Office

Dear Mr. Minister,

I'm in the process of renewing my passport, and still cannot believe this.
How is it that Radio Shack has my address and telephone number and knows that I bought a t.v. cable from them back in 1997, and yet, the Federal Government is still asking me where I was born and on what date.

For Christ sakes, do you guys do this by hand? Read More...

An Angry Sunday Post

Angry, as it is Sunday I think it's time for a sermon. I don't expect you are a fan of any organised religon so lets spin the wheel - Ahhh Catholic, your thoughts sir?
Angry says ...You know, it's almost impossible to talk about anything related to religion without stirring up the deepest-seated reactions (which in itself would seem to mean something about where religion resides in our make-up, does not it? Read more

Isabelle Adjani is HOT. CPA's are NOT.

Angry, what I enjoy most about our conversations is your take on people. You have traveled in elite circles - politicians, diplomats, the rich and famous all over the world.

Angry, we are starting to get the picture about people that make you, well... 'Angry' (sorry CPS's) but what is the one trait that intrigued you the most about people you have met?

Angry Says...In a word: Charisma.

It's rather rare, and it's quite weird - people who have it seem to glow - you can almost see it. They fill a vast room simply by their presence, even if they're staying in a corner and doing or even saying nothing.

The first time I came across the phenomenon was when chance-meeting Isabelle Adjani ...Read more

Why Aussie businesses fail to thrive internationally.

Angry, I know you have worked with business all over the world and now you are settled here in Australia you seem 'Angry' about the fact that businesses here are not taking advantage of opportunities for growth on the world stage.

Angry - what are your top 10 reasons why many Aussie businesses fail to thrive internationally?

Angry says ...When you say why Australian businesses fail to make it in the world, I assume of course that you speak of businesses that are successful in Australia, but somehow fail to establish themselves overseas. More

Piddling Pitiful Pissant Picayune Piffle

Angry, you recently called someone a 'piddling pitiful pissant picayune piffle' what on earth does this mean and to whom do you refer?

Angry says ...Well, piffle means balderdash or bunkum (picayune means small minded) more...

Guns for Everyone

Angry Voice - I remember when I first met you, you were upset (to say the least) about having to leave your weapons (guns) behind in Germany when you set up home on St Kilda Rd. Can you let the blog readers in on your thoughts? Who should have guns and why?

Angry says... The truth is, everyone - I mean every citizen - should have the right to own guns.

I know that the knee jerk reaction of most in Europe and Australia is to unthinkingly moan and whimper (Oh No!) whilst hiding their brow under a shielding palm or two, meaningfully shaking heads, but the hard fact is that governments are historically the absolute most dangerous things on Earth, and that free gun ownership by the people is the absolute last, powerful rampart that stands between dictatorship, nay between genocide, and us ....

An Angry Voice

'An Angry Voice' is a recent repatriated Australian. St Kilda Rd has not been the same since he moved in.

He is the quintessential know it all, but a know it all - that actually does.

He is unhappy with the way the world works, angry with the people he is forced to endure and frustrated to distraction with the speed that his coffee arrives. He is the most well informed, opinionated, interesting, frustrating, arrogant and humorous person I have ever met. There is nothing, and I mean nothing that he does not have an opinion about.

For almost 12 months I have corresponded with him about everything from from the mundane to the extraordinary and I often find myself forwarding his comments to friends who are often shocked and amused but always more interesting for reading his comments.

I told An Angry Voice it was time he was a blog - he agreed... so

Please enjoy this blog of conversations with The Angry Voice
